Jordi Truco is a graduated architect by Escola Tecnica Superior d’Arquitectura de Barcelona ETSAB

At 2003 received MAarch Distinction in “Emergent Technologies and Design” at The Architectural Association of London AA. UK. He is also the recipient of the first price of the Royal Academy of the Arts of London in Architecture, students’ category, 2003.

Before becoming partner at HYBRIDa, he developed a work experience at Correa i Milà Arquitectes, among some other Architecture practices.

 

From 2004 to 2007 he has been teaching at Masters of Biodigital Architecture at ESARQ, Universitat internacional de Catalunya.

During 2006 He has been visiting instructor of the Advanced Design Studio at PRATT School of Architecture in New York. USA. At 2007 has directed the Simposium Internacional d’Arquitectura Emergent SIMAE.

Since 2008 is currently the director of ADDA, Masters in Advanced Design and Digital Architecture at ELISAVA Escola Superior de Disseny I Ingenieria de Barcelona, Unuversitat Pompeu Fabra.

From 2009 to 2011 he has been lecturing and giving workshops at Hyperbody Research Group, TU Delft.

During 2010 has directed the project PARA-Site at the ADDA, ELISAVA BioDesign Reserch Lab, an interactive adaptable structure, on the field of the responsive architecture. This has been exhibited at Construmat 2011, also with the result of publication named PARA-Site, Time Based Formations through Material Intelligence. LULU books.

At 2011 he held the Esherick Visiting Professor Chare at College for Environmental Design at University of Berkeley. California.

From 2011 he has been contributing regularly at Emergent Technologies and Design March, at Architectural Association by lecturing, assisting to Thesis Final Reviews and giving desk critics.

He has lectured in several national and international universities like Pratt school of Architecture New York, USA, Architectural Association of London, LA SALLE Barcelona, ESARQ-UIC Barcelona, Escola Tecnica Superior d’Arquitectura de Barcelona, IaaC, Institut d’Arquitectura Avançada De Catalunya, University of Architecture of Taipei, Royal Institute of Technology of Stockholm, Technische Universiteit of Delft, College for Environmental Design at University of Berkeley, USA.

At 2012 he has been hired at CIMNE, International Center for Numerical Methods in Engineering to coordinate (with Sylvia Felipe, Partner at HYBRIDa) the FP7 European program Capacities HYPERMEMBRANE.

He currently coordinates the FP7 European program Demoproject HYPERMEMBRANE.

 

Sylvia Felipe is a graduated architect by Escola Tecnica Superior d’Arquitectura de Barcelona ETSAB

At 2003 received MAarch Distinction in “Emergent Technologies and Design” at The Architectural Association of London AA. UK.

Before becoming partner at HYBRIDa, she had a work experience at Martinez Lapeña & Torres Arquitectes, among some other Architecture firms.

 

Her interests in architecture focuses on the development of an integral design strategy that intersects evolutionary computation, Parametric design, Biomimetic engineering and digital fabrication for an adaptative and more efficient and performative built environment.

From 2009 she is teaching at ELISAVA Escola Superior de Disseny I Ingenieria de Barcelona, Unuversitat Pompeu Fabra.

She has lectured in international symposiums like Far East International Digital Architecture FEIDAD at Taipei 2004, Computer Architectural Design and Computer-Aided Manufacturing Processes in Architecture at ETH ZURICH 2005, Subtle Technologies: Responsive Architectures at University of Toronto 2006, Simposium Internacional d’ Arquitectura Emergent at Esarq Universitat Internacional de Catalunya 2007.

And in several national and international universities like Architectural Association of London, LA SALLE Barcelona, ESARQ-UIC Barcelona, Escola Tecnica Superior d’Arquitectura de Barcelona, University of Architecture of Taipei, Technische Universiteit of Delft, College for Environmental Design at University of Berkeley, USA.
